About Andy Fiannaca
Co-Owner/President & Chief Wholesale Officer, Sparks Florist
If Sparks Florist is the showpiece, Andy Fiannaca runs the backstage crew. He commands a supply chain that moves flowers from South American farms to three Reno-Tahoe coolers at lightning speed, then re-opens those coolers to DIY couples and event pros hunting for just-cut stems. LinkedIn may tag him a logistics specialist, but colleagues know his real talent is turning wild growing seasons into purchase orders that land on time and on budget.
Andy spent two years on the Society of American Florists’ Retailers Council, exchanging best practices and championing independent shops across the West. Edible Reno-Tahoe recently quoted him on the rise of locally grown poppies, butterfly ranunculus, and other earth-toned wedding favorites.
His journey is also a comeback. After a decade of drug-resistant epilepsy, Andy became one of Nevada’s first recipients of a responsive neuro-stimulation implant, Neuropace, a “pacemaker for the brain” that cleared the path to co-ownership, fatherhood, and 5 a.m. routing marathons every Mother’s Day.
Peak holidays find him Sparks Florist’s “router-in-chief,” juggling hundreds of deliveries before sunrise. The rest of the year he scouts rare blooms, backs local growers, and judges Nevada’s FFA Floriculture Career Development Event inside the same Design Center he once swept as a kid.
Andy’s promise is simple: the right flowers, at the right price, precisely on time, so the spotlight stays on the celebration, not the supply chain.
