About Kristin Fong-Fiannaca
Creative Director, Sparks Florist
If Sparks Florist has a color palette, Kristin Fong-Fiannaca mixed the paint. As Creative Director she sketches every seasonal scheme, pairs it with ribbons, and photographs the results - keeping the shop’s print, web, and social feeds in perfect tune. As a self-described "font nerd" who taught herself to code basic HTML in 4th grade, she has always had an interest in graphic arts, even though she thought it was just a fun hobby and not her future career path.
A classically-trained pastry chef (French Culinary Institute, Grand Diplôme) who once ran operations for San Francisco’s Charles Chocolates, Kristin now hunts down small-batch truffles, local honeys, and cult-favorite ceramics for our gourmet gift boxes and showroom shelves. “I’m professionally good at spending money,” she jokes - yet anything she tags tends to fly out the door.
At work she partners with her husband, Tony, to shape each floral collection, and then turns teacher - walking the design team through new arrivals so they can sell with confidence. She also keeps sparksflorist.com humming, updates thousands of product photos a year, and signs off on every postcard, label, and look-book that leaves the printer.
Spending time with her two kids is her top priority at home. Baking together, taking walks around the neighborhood, and solving puzzles are her recipe for the perfect Saturday.
Colleagues call her the “vibe curator”; customers just know that anything stamped with her eye for color and flavor will feel fresh, thoughtful, and a little bit decadent.
